Farmington, NM, December 12, 2023—Cenikor, a leading nonprofit behavioral health and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment network, is pleased to announce the receipt of $330,000 in congressional project funding, a significant capital boost facilitated by the efforts of Senator Ben Ray Luján. This funding will go towards crucial facility improvements, including upgrading amenities in the residential building and fortifying the foundation’s commitment to providing vital services to the Farmington community.
“With so many New Mexicans and Americans impacted by substance use disorder, it’s critical our country invests in resources and services that improves access to treatment and recovery,” said Senator Luján. “That’s why I was proud to secure $330,000 for Cenikor to upgrade residential amenities and boost their ability to provide detoxification, short-term residential, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) programs to the Farmington community. This federal investment will allow Cenikor to continue their work supporting New Mexicans, and I look forward to seeing this funding make a difference in our community.”
Since being elected to Congress in 2008, Senator Luján has championed efforts to expand quality healthcare for all, securing millions in funding to increase access to treatment and recovery services. The nonprofit extends its sincere thanks to Senator Luján for his steadfast advocacy and unwavering support of its mission of building a foundation for better health and better lives.
Bill Bailey, President and CEO of Cenikor, expressed gratitude for the funding, stating, “We are deeply appreciative of Senator Luján’s dedication to the wellbeing of our community. This financial support will empower us to make significant upgrades so we can create an even more impactful and supportive space for individuals seeking recovery.”
Cenikor Farmington opened in May 2022, entering into a strategic partnership with Four Winds Recovery Center. Since opening its doors, Cenikor has served 818 individuals through its detoxification, short-term residential, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) programs.
Cenikor Farmington remains steadfast in its mission to provide comprehensive resources and support to individuals facing behavioral health challenges. The congressional project funding marks a significant milestone in the nonprofit’s ability to address the critical needs of the community.
