Dallas, TX, August 19, 2024— Cenikor, a leading nonprofit behavioral health treatment network serving over 14,000 people a year, is pleased to announce the launch of aftercare support, including recovery coaching (RSS) and alumni, at its Dallas-Fort Worth location. These services are essential to lifelong recovery, as they make the skills learned in treatment even stronger.
Periodic check-ins through RSS and alumni events keep people engaged in recovery. Building a community of support increases the chance of recovery success, and a client is more likely to quickly return to treatment if there is a relapse.
“Aftercare is a crucial part of our comprehensive approach to treatment,” said Bill Bailey, President and CEO of Cenikor Foundation. “We understand that the path to recovery doesn’t end when people leave treatment. Our goal is to provide ongoing support, community, and connection to help people grow in recovery and achieve long-term success.”
Key features of aftercare include:
- One-on-One Recovery Coaching: A certified recovery support specialist with lived recovery experience works with clients to provide hope and a visual for success, with weekly check-ins to help with tasks and challenges.
- Resource Referrals: Recovery coaches connect clients to resources like medical and housing, counseling, sober living, vocational training, job searches, and social benefits.
- Alumni Network and Events: A growing, active alumni community to help support each other and current Cenikor clients, along with fun, sober events to keep people engaged.
The program is free for two years for those completing any level of care, from detox and residential to outpatient and recovery housing.
Last year, Cenikor served 601 people in aftercare services, a 54.4% increase over FY23.
