Cenikor’s Odyssey House Expands Outpatient Services to Teens Across Texas

Houston, TX, October 7, 2024—Cenikor, a leading nonprofit behavioral health and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment network serving over 14,000 patients a year, is pleased to announce a significant expansion of its services, now accepting adolescents for outpatient treatment across Texas through Odyssey House. This initiative underscores the organization’s commitment to addressing the behavioral health needs of young people and providing them with the necessary tools to navigate life’s challenges.

The outpatient program is designed to cater to the diverse needs of adolescents, offering both virtual and in-person participation options. Each participant will engage in three weekly two-hour group sessions, where they will connect with peers in a supportive environment. In addition, they will receive one individual counseling session per week, allowing for personalized attention and tailored therapeutic strategies.

Cenikor’s Odyssey House recognizes the unique struggles faced by today’s youth, including substance use, anxiety, depression, and the pressures of social media. The organization’s team of experienced, licensed counselors is dedicated to fostering resilience and promoting healthy coping mechanisms among adolescents. Through evidence-based practices, participants will learn to better manage their emotions, build self-esteem, prevent substance use relapse, and enhance their interpersonal skills.

“We are excited to launch this important program for teens across Texas,” said Bill Bailey, President and CEO of Cenikor Foundation. “Our goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where young people can express themselves, connect with others, and receive the support they need. We believe that by investing in their behavioral health now, we are helping to shape a brighter future for our communities.”

Odyssey House’s commitment to comprehensive care extends beyond therapy sessions. The organization also emphasizes family involvement, recognizing that support from loved ones is crucial in the healing process. Family engagement sessions will be available to ensure that parents and guardians are equipped to support their teens effectively.

This new initiative is part of Odyssey House’s broader mission to provide accessible substance use disorder and mental health resources throughout Texas. By offering flexible options and a range of services, the organization aims to remove barriers to care and ensure that adolescents can receive the help they deserve.
