Our holistic approach ensures that every client receives the comprehensive support they need to succeed in their recovery journey.
“During the first 24 to 72 hours at our Houston rehab facility, each new client undergoes a comprehensive clinical assessment that forms their individualized treatment plan. Our team conducts medical, psychiatric, and psychosocial evaluations to identify withdrawal risk, co-occurring conditions, and the appropriate level of care. You’ll be oriented to the therapeutic community, meet your treatment team, and begin stabilizing both physically and emotionally. We focus heavily on making you feel safe and supported from the moment you arrive; this is a structured but compassionate environment designed to help you settle in without judgment.”Martha Solis, Senior Clinical Manager

What is Drug and Alcohol Detox?

Detox is the first step toward recovery, helping the body eliminate harmful substances and break physical dependence on drugs and alcohol. A successful detox process is essential for long-term recovery and can be done in a medical facility or, in some cases, under supervised home care. At Cenikor Houston, we offer safe, medically supervised detox programs that provide 24/7 medical care and professional support, ensuring a comfortable and effective start to recovery.
“Attempting to stop certain substances — particularly alcohol, benzodiazepines, or opioids — without medical supervision carries real, sometimes life-threatening risks. Withdrawal from alcohol and benzos can cause seizures or delirium tremens. Opioid withdrawal, while rarely fatal on its own, can lead to dangerous dehydration and relapse. At Cenikor, our licensed medical staff monitors vital signs continuously and administers medications when clinically indicated to prevent complications and ease discomfort. We also use FDA-approved medications like Suboxone to reduce cravings and stabilize the brain chemistry affected by dependence. That medical foundation makes everything else in recovery possible.”Dr. Acebo

Addiction Recovery Programs We Offer

“Level-of-care placement at Cenikor is driven by a thorough clinical assessment using standardized tools aligned with ASAM criteria. We evaluate the nature and severity of substance use, any co-occurring behavioral health conditions, prior treatment history, medical needs, and social supports at home. A client with significant physical dependence, limited support systems, or a history of complicated withdrawal would typically begin with medically supervised detox, then transition into residential care. Someone with a strong support network and lower medical acuity may be appropriate for intensive outpatient care. Every plan is personalized, there is no single path that fits everyone.”Martha Solis, Senior Clinical Manager

Why Choose Cenikor for Addiction Recovery?

You Don’t Have to Struggle Alone

Drug addiction affects not just the individual but also their family, friends, and loved ones. If you or someone you care about is struggling with substance use, mental health challenges, or dual diagnosis, you are not alone. Seeking help can feel overwhelming, but Cenikor Houston is here to guide you every step of the way through whole-person, personalized support.
“We call this integrated or co-occurring treatment, and it’s central to how Cenikor operates. Substance use disorders and mental health conditions — depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD — are deeply interconnected. Treating only one while ignoring the other significantly increases the risk of relapse. Our clinical programming incorporates evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and trauma-informed care alongside our medical and psychiatric support. At our Houston Adult location, we treat the whole person, not just the presenting substance use diagnosis.”Dr. Jamal Rafique, MD

My name is Carter, and I cannot say enough good things about Deer Park Recovery House. I want to think mrs Shannon. She was there for me from the very beginning and made me feel welcome, comfortable, and right at home. She genuinely cared about my recovery and always took the time to listen, encourage, and support me when I needed it most. Her kindness, compassion, and dedication helped me believe in myself and stay focused on my recovery journey. Knowing that someone truly cared made all the difference. Deer Park Recovery House provided me with a safe and supportive environment, and I am incredibly grateful for everything Shannon did to help me succeed. I highly recommend Deer Park Recovery House to anyone looking for a place where they will feel supported, respected, and encouraged every step of the way.

They really helped my son get over his psychotic episode and he said that this was the most intense program that he was ever in.I am so proud of him for sticking it out and going to sober living house. And they were able to stabilize my Son on his Meds . Because of that he is just like he was before a loving father and a concerned person who is ready for the responsibility of sober life.
